In short

Most lodging in the Trekalto catalogue opens mid-June to mid-September. Some from 1 June; Mottets and Bonatti often from 10 June; Elisabetta, Lac Blanc, and Flégère often 15 June–15 September. Shoulder season means limited openings. Flégère lists 12 June–18 September 2027.

These dates are orders of magnitude from the Trekalto catalogue, not a year-by-year guarantee. Check each place before you go.

Shoulder season: what to expect

Early June and late September mean fewer open beds, possible high snow, and lifts/shuttles sometimes off schedule. If you go early or late, build a plan with lower alternatives and weather buffer — see the Trekalto method and bad-weather variants.

2027 booking calendar

Association platform: opens 15 October 2026 (members). Flégère: 5 January 2027 00:01 Paris. Bonatti / Elisabetta / Lac Blanc: 2027 dates not announced. Detail: booking huts.

Lifts: check every year

Summer 2026 example only: Bellevue open about 6 June–13 September 2026 (Compagnie du Mont-Blanc / Apidae schedules). For 2027, check compagniedumontblanc.fr and chamonix.com — do not invent hours or fares.

FAQ

July or September for the TMB?

July–August: more openings and more crowds. September: often quieter, but watch progressive closures and weather.

Can I start in early June?

Possible if critical nights are open, but shoulder season stays risky (snow, closed beds). Check Mottets, Bonatti, Elisabetta, Flégère case by case.

Does Croix du Bonhomme change the season?

It is closed until summer 2029: no overnight at the Contamines–Chapieux col, whatever the summer window.
